Angelo instore @ Laforet Harajuku

I was going to write about Sunday instore yesterday. I thought I'd come back home from work and have a nice relaxing evening writing a blog. But it's rather hard to have a nice relaxing evening at a police station! *hysterical*  So instead I spent the evening surrendering myself to a police, confessing and being escorted to a scene of my crime. All that for scraping my car on a guardrail! But police was a minor business in comparison to a company I work for and amount of paperwork I had to fill out today. They are so anal about their staff driving safe and everyone who was involved in any sort of a traffic accident has to report it. On the one hand I understand it since it's a car maker that prides itself on safety standards, but on the other hand filling out all those forms and getting them signed by my bosses all the way to the top was rather... too much even if it was sort of amusing. Good insensitive to never get in an accident again! I haven't called my insurance company yet, maybe tomorrow *sigh*

Anyway moving on from my car woes to Karyu. Angelo held a few instore events after a release of Babel and I bought the album from Like an Edison since theirs was the easiest to get a ticket for. The instore was on Sunday afternoon at Laforet in Harajuku, the first part was a talk, which lasted for about an hour, and then it was a handshake, limited to 300 people only and participants were determined by a lottery. N. and I got on a shinkansen to Tokyo in the morning and at first we went to Closet Child at Ikebukuro. I needed funds to sponsor my Karyu trip so I sold pretty much everything vk related I no longer wanted to have. It covered my shinkansen tickets to Tokyo so I'm quite happy about it. We went to Harajuku afterwards and killed time at a cafe on the first floor before lining up to enter Laforet Museum. I have a feeling Likea rarely has things going smoothly (plus quite a few of their staffs have an attitude problem) and it took forever in the beginning because at the entrance they were checking the numbers to see who won the handshake lottery. It took them over half an hour to let 200 people inside and they had almost 500 fans left to let in and only 20-25 minutes to do that. In the end they had to speed things up and we entered the place without much of a problem, but we had to stand in the back since there were seats for maybe only about half of the audience. Most importantly, however, both N. and I won the handshake lottery. I got to touch Karyu! >;D The funny thing is I bought one copy of an album so I had one lottery ticket, while N. bought 3 and consequently had 3 lottery tickets, but she won only once. Lucky me ;) We chatted with a girl standing next to us in the line, who was a long time Kirito fan and also came from Nagoya, and she was so happy to win the handshake lottery and was nearly in tears that she could meet him even if for a brief moment. She was really sweet and we thought that there must be something good about Kirito if someone as sweet and pure as her likes him that much *bricked* By the way she told us that though she had been a fan since Pierrot, it was the first time she got a chance to meet him, Pierrot and Angelo didn't have instores (or very few) before.
Kirito, Karyu and Giru participated in the event and my general impression was that it was fairly obvious that Kirito was a boss. Both Karyu and Giru looked at him for an approval when they answered questions, but while Giru fooled around and acted like the band's resident cown, Karyu was very respectful. He even used keigo at times, and by the way not only when he spoke but in his blog entries ( I got a peek at Angelo FC blog where he started to write lately and he seemed in good spirits, but I'm still hesitant about joining). Also I think Karyu really likes Kirito and visa versa, but it makes me wonder about Giru and how his fans feel since Kirito is so obviously playing favorites. Another things was that I had never seen Karyu acting so cute before! *dies of cuteness overload* Maybe it was a presence of an older man next to him that affected him, but it also must be rather hard to show one's cute side when sitting next to Hizumi lol
They answered a lot of questions about Babel and what happened during the recording. Kirito told a funny episode about how they were recording chorus in the middle of the night, four members except him were in a recording booth and leaving one by one and in the end Karyu was the only one left. The guitarist freaked out because he was scared to stay alone in the dark and Takeo stayed with him lol That's so Karyu!
The handshake afterwards was incredibly fast. The fastest handshake I had ever seen! We barely had enough time to say "thank you"! I stuck to a simple "Thank you! It was fun today" with all three of them, but it turned out a little awkward with Giru. For some reason it lasted a little longer and after I said those words there was a moment when he looked at me with the widest smile ever and I didn't know what else to say lol But the next moment I was pushed towards Karyu so I didn't have to frantically look for other things to say anymore. Karyu didn't say anything (too little time), but he smiled shyly and shook our hands. It was great to see him doing well! It was the main reason I went all the way to Tokyo after all, I wanted to make sure he was fine one more time. Mission accomplished! ;)
Afterwards we met up with J. and went drinking in Shibuya before catching a shinkansen train back to Nagoya. We need to do it again some time soon, preferably touching Karyu included >;P

By the way while I am on the topic of Karyu. I hate repeating the same things over and over again, but fine, if it's something so difficult to understand right away, once again: I do not accept any requests. I don't care how desperately you want to read this interview or that. Pest me about it one more time and I will not do it at all regardless of whether I considered translating it or not. Because I can. I do things I want to do, when I want to do and at my own pace. Period.
Now time for bed, another long day at work tomorrow. Good night~

You must be the most devoted D'espairsRay fan out there! At least the most devoted one I know ;D

It's so so good to read that Karyu's doing fine. Funny how much I need that reassurance. And you're so right about how it must be impossible to act cute while Hizumi's next to you XD
And what is it about Karyu being scared of the dark...? I don't suppose there is no light in the studio, so what the heck |D that guy's such a sissy!
And I'm happy you had a nice time after all in Tokyo. Shinkansen tickets are so fucking expensive D:

So, what I actually wanted to express: Thank you for sharing your experience!
And good luck on your confrontation with the insurance company!

I am a devoted D'espa fan! Though I am not going to try and claim to be "the most" devoted one lol
Yes, I needed a reassurance he was doing well too, and it was really nice to see him smile ;)
I have no idea what's wrong with him, but he is always scared of the dark. One of my favorite D'espa stories is how during a FC trip last year he was so scared to be in a dark room he moved to sleep in between Zero and Tsukasa. Unbelievable! xD
Shinkansen is expensive, but very convenient and it's nice to go to Tokyo once in a while ;)

You're welcome and thank you for reading, I am glad you enjoyed it ;)
Yeah, I miss D'espa and I wish they gave me more material to write about.
I am settling down so thoroughly in this country I am getting a police record now lol

You are right what kind of a vampire is scared of the dark and ghosts lol

THE MICRO HEAD 4N’S should jumpstart their activities pronto so we can soon read about touching Tsukasa and Zero too ψ(`∇´)ψ

By the way, took your advice and gave Angelo a chance. Surprisingly, the vocals wasn't that bad for me. But nope, not jumping on the Angelo bandwagon just yet.

Great to hear though that Karyu is doing well. That's a mood lifter. Thank you very much for sharing that.

May your dealing with the insurance be hassle free.

They will have their 1st live in December, but sadly since it's on a weekday I can't go ;'(
It's all a matter of taste and I generally don't like high voices that much (with a couple of exceptions). But I think the difference between Hizumi's voice and Kirito's is too great to accept it that easily too.
Thank you, I still haven't called them ;( Maybe tomorrow...

I'm sorry to hear about your cute little car, did it get scratched?

You're welcome and thank you for reading ;)
He is such a baby sometimes! lol
Yeah, my car got scratched on a left back door, but unless you look closely it's not very visible.

You're welcome and thank you for reading ;)
I think the scariest horror movie he must have ever seen is Nightmare Before Christmas lol
lol No one can force me do anything. All they can do is successfully annoy the hell out of me with their whining.

Thank you for your report as always :) You are very lucky ;) I think it's cute that he's scared of the dark..he's like a grown up baby LOL

About Karyu's interview, personally the reason I haven't asked you to translate it is because I understand that you have your own life and that you could be full of commitments :) as you have probably seen there are a lot of people who are curious even more than me and who depend on you..because they don't know Japanese and you are the only chance!ButI'm not justifying them since nobody can pretend to have you immediately at their disposal. :/
This interview is very "attractive" for Karyu MANIA because it's said that it's very touching..you know if it's true or not ;)

Said this I'm not asking you to translate it now if you don't want to..take your time ;)

PS. what's happened to your cute car? :(

You're welcome and thank you for reading ;)
Sure I understand that a lot of people want to read Karyu's recent interview. But some stranger coming to me thinking I'm just going to comply with all their wishes makes me laugh.
By the way personally I think it's not as touching as many probably hope. As far as I remember he says nothing about D'espairsRay and their break-up.

"She was really sweet and we thought that there must be something good about Kirito if someone as sweet and pure as her likes him that much *bricked* By the way she told us that though she had been a fan since Pierrot, it was the first time she got a chance to meet him, Pierrot and Angelo didn't have instores (or very few) before."

wasn't kirito notorious for hating (i mean really, unapologetically, unabashedly reviling) fangirls? if it's true, i hope he is at least decent enough to not be a dick in person :\

and damn you must've sold a TON of stuff (or some super sweet stuff) to be able to cover your shinkansen ticket.
Oct. 23rd, 2011 06:37 am (UTC)
What exactly do you mean by "fangirls"? It's a derogatory term, watch your use of words when you are effectively calling me that >;O If you meant it as "female fans" then I don't think it's the case. He certainly behaved, for example, he wore a jacket with very long sleeves, but he rolled them up for proper handshakes.
I did sell tons of stuff, because it goes for 1/10 of original price at best there *sigh*
Oct. 25th, 2011 12:06 am (UTC)
lol not you, fanboy :X

by "fangirls" i actually mean both fans who are girls, and the fans who would cry at a handshake event. the original ~rumor~ was that he disliked those types of over-the-top emotional and/or possessive and/or crazy stalker fans, but then after time the rumor morphed into, "kirito hates women altogether." :|

as long as he behaved, that's what matters, right? probably the rumors were completely bogus, anyway. you can never trust what you hear on the internet!
Nov. 12th, 2011 01:47 am (UTC)
Truth is, I enjoy hearing from him through your report like this much more than watching an Angelo clip >_>

I think the scariest horror movie he must have ever seen is Nightmare Before Christmas lol
LOLOLOL THIS will stuck in my head forever.
Nov. 12th, 2011 02:22 am (UTC)
Yeah, Kirito is a 邪魔! lol
But I think it is true! He is such a chicken, it's unbelievable how a grown-up man can be afraid of dark and stuff like that lol
